The physical health of surgeons is critical for a long, satisfying career in the OR, and a healthy life in retirement. Years of performing surgical procedures can lead to chronic pain and other injuries.  In fact, the surgical profession sees more than 1 million injuries a year.  This webinar will provide current best practices in ergonomics and recommendations for future research. We will begin by briefly exploring the need for a better understanding of ergonomics in surgery, and then review the future of ergonomics in surgical environments.

Surgeons, Fellows, Medical Residents, and Medical Students

 

Objectives: 

1. Describe best current ergonomic practices in the OR for surgeons.

2. Identify opportunities for improvement in your surgical environment.
