This class will focus on diet or eating habits, exercise or conditioning, as well as many mental and emotional strategies for wellness. While we are driven to provide the best possible care for our patients, how can we do that if we don’t first take care of ourselves?

During and at the conclusion of each class, participants should plan to have their own action plans for moving forward. Attendance (CME credit) and attentiveness in the class in documented by submitting “Masters Codes” provided during the class. The optional additional hour of CME credit is earned by documenting the completion of an additional assignment to the instructor.

Class #2 Objectives

  1. Discuss the pathophysiology of negative energy and poor training and wellness strategies
  2. Learn treatment strategies to create positive energy, sustainable physical, mental and emotional wellness, and successful surgical practices
  3. Create a wellness plan with short and long term goals
  4. Implement a new wellness habit to replace an old habit using goal setting and accountability

Class #2 Homework – Earn 1 additional CME in Credit (Select the hour of additional work)

  • Write down your basic diet or exercise plan
  • Write down a personal healthcare plan
  • Research emotional intelligence and write a one-paragraph report
  • Write down your 8 PRACTICEs plan to restore energy for personal or practice wellness
  • Read Energy Leadership: Transforming Your Workplace and Your Life from the Core by Bruce D. Schneider
  • Offer another assignment for instructor approval

Requirements to earn CME credit:

  • 3 CME Master Codes provided in presentation
  • Completed survey and evaluation
  • Completed report of extra assignment for those seeking 2 CME credits
