“I am a physician coach that seeks to help others identify what is truly fulfilling and choose what is most rewarding to them.”
Meet Carla
As a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon, I have owned a private practice and worked for hospital systems as a trauma surgicalist in orthopedics. One of my coaching interests is job transitions, and my biggest goal is to help other surgeons navigate changes in their personal and professional lives.
Having served as Chair of the Department of Surgery at a very large urban hospital, I saw firsthand how adverse events and lack of collegiality impact physicians. Peer support and coaching toward physician empowerment are also important ways to give back to my community and foster physician longevity.
I have utilized professional career coaching and been an active peer educator coach for the past seven years. I completed 60 hours of coach training through SurgeonMasters and currently practice medicine as an orthopedic hospitalist. Balancing work with my passion for humanitarian service – both domestic and abroad – has been one of my most rewarding accomplishments. Creating time to enjoy the outdoors with my family is the greatest result.
