Physician Mental Fitness Group Coaching
Join SurgeonMasters coaches Susan Wilson, MD, and Charity Hix, MD, for an interactive group coaching session focused on mental fitness— daily skills and practices that support emotional resilience, focus, and well-being.

This session starts with an easy-to-understand introduction to the concept of mental fitness and why it is important in demanding personal and professional roles. Participants will then reflect on their current mental fitness habits and stress responses, and explore practical, evidence-based strategies to improve mental fitness over time.
The format is collaborative and coaching-based, combining guided reflection, small-group discussion, and action planning. Participants will leave with a personalized set of next steps.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Define mental fitness and describe how it differs from mental health treatment and crisis support
2. Identify personal stress patterns and current coping strategies that help or hinder well-being
3. Practice at least one mindfulness-based technique to improve self-awareness and emotional regulation
4. Choose 2 to 3 realistic, measurable habits to support mental fitness between sessions
5. Create a simple plan for integrating mental fitness practices into daily routines (work and home)
Educational Format:
Brief presentation, followed by facilitated group coaching discussion with structured reflection and peer exchange.
