Coach Peers… Consistent with Their Values and Beliefs
Hi Community:
There are common misconceptions about coaching, and a lot of what I’ve been trying to do with SurgeonMasters is to dispel them. Here are two we hear often:
“Coaching is remedial. It’s not for the best surgeons.”
“I don’t need help, I’m doing fine.”
I’m doing fine too. That’s not what coaching is about.
In coaching, each of us is the primary driver of our own learning and success. The coach is there to support the self-directed learning process but we determine what we want to work on and where the final destination is. I started my journey into coaching because I wanted to help others. In doing so, I realized I needed to hire my own coach to help me along the way.
If you enjoy learning and helping others, I encourage you to check out Physician Coaching Training on September 15. We are offering a free onboarding session for anyone curious enough to attend.
