Minneapolis, MN., June 5, 2025 – SurgeonMasters CEO Jeffrey M. Smith, MD, FACS, PCC, will present the study, Cutting-Edge Support: The Perceived Value of Professional Coaching for Surgeons, at the AOA Leadership Meeting on June 5, 2025, at 5:00 PM Central.
“There is a critical distinction in the coaching space between voluntary coaching and mandatory coaching. When physicians voluntarily engage in coaching, the impact is often deeper, more sustained, and more aligned with their personal and professional growth. This reinforces the value of creating a culture where coaching is seen as a resource, not a remedy. ” Jeffrey M. Smith, MD, FACS, PCC
The purpose of this study is to encourage further research into the value and effectiveness of professional coaching for surgeons, drawing on the experience of an orthopedic surgeon with over 900 hours of one-on-one coaching and more than 200 hours of accredited coach training.
