How did you get started?

At the 2019 Orthopaedic Trauma Association Annual Conference in Denver, I stayed at my brother’s house and used his Peloton.

How does this activity impact your mental, physical, and / or emotional well-being?

The Peloton bike has an amazing, positive community and allows competition if one desires. I get up early before fracture conference and do a 30 to 90 minute ride every day. This has significantly increased my cardiovascular fitness and am able to sustain longer cardiovascular exercise without being winded. I also have gotten into their yoga programs and nightly meditation to help me sleep. The addition of yoga has improved my flexibility and back pain. Nightly meditation has given me more restorative, restful sleep and more energy during the day.

How does this activity bring wellness to your life when other activities have not?

The community that has been created by Peloton keeps me motivated and excited about exercising. The instructors are motivating and entertaining. The playlists they select keep me engaged and motivated. Observing physical gains keeps me motivated and I can do it in the comfort of my own home without physically going to a gym and fighting for machines/weights.
