How do you practice wellness?
Why are we talking about wellness for physicians?
In the context of medical practice, the good life is a state of robust physical, mental, and emotional health—leading to greater personal fulfillment and exceptional patient care. For many of us, this isn’t easily attainable.
Moral injury is all too common a hazard among surgeons and other medical professionals, therefore we seek to help our members do more of what they enjoy outside of surgery and work-related activities.
We want you to think about your #1 leisure, sports or recharge activity—and what helps you unwind.
The benefits you get from these activities are what we see as experiencing wellness.
We want you to share your wellness story with other surgeons.
Your story could inspire other surgeons and help remind them about how they are already practicing wellness. If things like making model trains, planting vegetables in your backyard or horseback riding make you happy, we want to hear about it.
