About Dr. Joel Lubin:
Dr. Joel Lubin UNM Orthopaedic Class of 2001 passed away on March 31, 2012. Joel was an outstanding person, doctor, friend, and father. He was dedicated to learning and teaching. He was a valued member of our UNM Orthopaedic family and is greatly missed by the community. In honor of Joel’s life and legacy, the Sandia Orthopaedic Alumni Society (SOAS) established the Joel Lubin Visiting Professorship funding a renowned orthopaedic specialist to present at Grand Rounds and spend a day helping to educate current UNM Orthopaedic Residents and enhance their experience at UNM.

Dr. Jeffrey M. Smith is a practicing Orthopaedic Traumatologist, Director of the San Diego Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship, and a surgeon coach.
