Lately, I’ve been reflecting on two questions:
- What do I need?
- What’s non-essential?
I don’t need to “Marie Kondo” my entire life, but I do crave boundaries and an honest understanding of what I do and don’t want.
I don’t know about you, but not all of the stress I experience comes from my workload. Sometimes it’s the result of misaligned expectations. Stress rears up when I say yes too often and carry things that may no longer be mine. That’s when it’s time to reassess.
Our upcoming community events focus on prioritization and, as always, reflection on what matters to you.
On April 23rd, we begin The 8 PRACTICEs group series with Passion for Performance Improvement. This event will be an opportunity to consider what passion means at this stage of your career and where you want to focus your energy.
We’re also continuing our book club with Muyibat Adelani, MD, on April 30th with Essentialism: Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown. Many of us feel pressure to do more. This book offers a practical framework for deciding what truly deserves our time and energy. I know I will learn something new.
We can’t do everything, even though we might try.
What truly matters to you?
I hope you’ll join us.
