Dear Community,
Every SurgeonMasters event or resource we create is meant to reflect our dedication to the coaching mindset, which is defined as “open-minded, curious, flexible, and client-centered” (1).
We understand not every resource will resonate with everyone—that’s okay. We encourage each of us to take what’s helpful, and leave what’s not.
For example, we recently sponsored several wellness events at the Orthopaedic Trauma Association annual meeting in Phoenix. The goal wasn’t to say you must meditate, mountain bike, or practice yoga to experience wellness.
While each of these can be beneficial, they’re not for everyone. The purpose was simply to raise awareness about the science of high performance and self-care, and to encourage each of us to find our own path. Wellness matters, and it’s up to each of us to define what that means, with support from our greater community.

This past month, our resources focused on performance. The blog shared three performance strategies, and the podcast explored how to build routines for peak performance. From awareness to implementation, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced practitioner, there’s always something to take away.
I hope you’ll join one or more of our upcoming SurgeonMasters Community events where we’ll have an opportunity to connect, enjoy each others company, and learn from one another.
